You Humble Host TIM NAPALM is 52 today. He will not be hosting RADIO NAPALM this week. Instead, we turn the controls over to the original rock 'n' roll wildman disc jockey, DEWEY PHILLIPS. Before Alan Freed, Wolfman Jack, The Mad Daddy or any of them, Dewey Phillips ruled the airwaves of the Midsouth via Red Hot & Blue, over Memphis' WHBQ, introducing white teenagers to the most gutbucket black sounds with his unhinged, out-of-control style. On top of it all, he would be the first to play Elvis Presley on the radio - Dewey Phillips was a preacher, and rock 'n' roll was his gospel, before any other disc jockey was doing it. Today, RADIO NAPALM proudly presents highlights of Dewey Phillips on the Memphis airwaves, from 1952 to 1964. That'll flat git it!
Aug. 16th, 1977: Elvis Presley, who kicked down the door to the mainstream and allowed rock 'n' roll to emerge from marginalized American music back in the 50s, dies of a heart attack at age 42. RADIO NAPALM and your humble host TIM NAPALM look back with this 3-year-old special at the moment when a 21-year-old ex-truck driver from Memphis became history's 1st punk rocker, with a host of obscure vintage live recordings and select hits. This is Savage Young Elvis in action, y'all!

Your Humble Host TIM NAPALM, ED THE ENGINEER, and mentally-challenged assistant SCOOTER awake in The Garage, scrape off the post-election dust, and try to make sense of it all. And guess what?
